Children and Toddler Programs

School Age Child Care Program
As of the 2011-2012, MSF only provides extended day services to the Mercer County Special Services School District. The programs offer a familiar atmosphere and eliminate the stress of childcare prior to or after school hours. Children in our programs are exposed to physical play and other recreational activities under adult supervision, receive help with homework (as applicable) and enjoy a snack. The program is especially for children between the kindergarten and fifth grade (up to 12 years old). In line with the target population of the school district, MSF tailors activities to the special needs and capabilities of the children with varying degrees of disabilities.

Afternoon: 2 to 6 p.m.

Half Days (Early Dismissal): The after-school program does not operate at MCSS District on early dismissal days.

Delayed Openings and Emergency Closings

Scheduled Closings - The before and after school programs will follow the calendar of the school districts. When the school district is closed, the before and after school program will be closed.

Delayed Openings (Before School Programs): If the school district announces a delayed opening of any length, then the morning programs will follow the delayed schedule. For example, if the school district announces a 60-minute delay, the morning programs will open at 8:30 a.m.; if it announces a 90-minute delay, programs will open at 9 a.m.

Emergency Closings / Inclement Weather: If there is an emergency closing during the day (that is, if the school or district closes prior to the end of the regular school day) there will be NO after school program. If weather conditions worsen during the after school program hours, parents or guardians are asked to pick up their children as soon as possible. Please listen to the school district announcements to determine whether the program is open, delayed or closed. For parental convenience, we have an emergency hot-line which provides further information regarding the status of the before and after school programs. Please call the automated emergency hot-line number at 609.278.5555.
